Full Description: Azad Hind, 1943, 12as + 1R, Sheet of 100 Stamps, Map of Indian Sub-continent breaking the shackles for freedom, amidst two ceremonial swords, printed for Provisional Government Azad Hind (for India), printed at “Reichsdruckerei”, Berlin, Imperf, Photogrsvure, minor crease fold is observed as an error on the sheet, the sheet is an intact condition, MNH, Rare. Note: The Azad Hind Stamps are a set of German propaganda stamps produced in 1943 by the Socialist Party, Berlin (Germany) for Subhash Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Indian National Army in hopes of overthrowing British rule. All stamps were printed by photogravure in sheets of 100 at the "Reichsdruckerei", the Government Printing Bureau in Berlin, probably only 13,500 stamps were printed in three colour varieties, the Azad Hind stamps were prepared but never issued. |
