Punch-marked Coins, Post-Mauryas, Mathura region, Silver Karshapana, Obv: consist of a Sun, six-armed symbol, a monk standing on the back of a Bull, representing Lord Shiva on his Nandi vehicle, an ornate standard symbol, and a human figure standing to right with left hand raised in air and holding a plough and a staff (Danda) in the right hand, depicting Lord Balaram, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. The 6th symbol shows the same figure of Lord Shiva standing to left but without Nandi Bull, Rev: one small symbol, 3.30g, 14.38 X 13.87mm, about very fine.
