Vajji Janapada, 575-450 BC, Silver Double Karshapana Punch-marked Coin, Single symbol Coin, Geometric Mark, five triangles with two dots and three horizontal lines on periphery and a central dot in core, 6.6g, 18.30 X 25.65mm, (Shinji Hirano Series # I, Phase-II, Type 10), about very fine, Extremely Rare.
 
Note:- Vajjis were the most important republic of Buddhist era, situated in modern Vaishali-Muzaffarpur districts of Bihar.  The Vajjis or Vrijjis included eight confederated clans, of which, the Licchhavis were the most important. The mother of Mahavira was a Licchavi princess. Vaishali (modern Basarh in the Vaishali District of North Bihar) was their capital. The Second Buddhist Council was held at Vaishali. Defeated by king Ajatasatru of Magadha. Their references are replete in numerous ancient chronicles viz. Mahavagga, Mahaparinibbanasutta, Atthakatha, Kalingar Sutta, Sutra Krutanga, Arthashastra etc.
