Full Description: Shah Jahan II, Nusratabad Mint, Silver Rupee, AH 1131, Obv: sikka mubarak shahjahan badshah ghazi, Rev: manus memanat sana julus & zarb at bottom, 11.3g, 21.47mm, Unpublished, about very fine, Extremely Rare. The Northern Karnataka comes under the Mughals. Dharwad sas called Nusratabad. A few Gold and Silver Coins of Aurangazeb bearing the date 1114-1146 AH is also known & some of his successors were also minted here. Actually prince Muazzam (Shah Alam Bahadur), Aurangazeb's son took hubli & Dharwad (Nusratabad) in 1685 AD. Till the Ruler Rafi-ud-Daula (Shahjahan II) & Alamgir II. This mint was very active until 1753 AD. The Rafi-ud-Daula (Shahjahan II) coins of Silver Rupee minted few coins of this mint. Thus the coins of Shahjahan II of Nusratabad are very Rare. |
