Full Description: Akbar, Gold Mohur, Lahore Mint (Dar-us-sulatnat), AH 980 (date unlisted in KM), Obv: kalima shahada around four khalifas name, Rev: jalal ud din akbar badshah ghazi, zarb at bottom, 11.00g, 20.54mm, (KM #106.5), about extremely fine+, lovely bold strike, Rare. Lahore was s a flourishing city in Punjab (now in Pakistan) which was the capital of the Subah in Akbar's reign. It was one of his prolific mints from which various coins were issued in all the three metals. Akbar's earliest known misqals (Shahrukhis) were also issued from Lahore. |
