Gandhara Janapada, Silver Bentbar (Shatamana), (Shataka Type ?), Obv: six petalled flower at each end of the bar, smaller punches in between, Rev: uniface, 11.15g, 8.30x41.48mm, (Rajgors # Series 34, Type 540, Pl. 6, Pg. 101), about very fine, Extremely Rare.

These Shatamanas were probably issued under the reign of Pukkusati who was the contemporary King under Buddha from the Gandhara-Kashmir reign and after hearing from the friend King Bambisara about Buddha he immediately adopted the Dharma and path of Buddha and travelled to Savathi to see Buddha. The capital was believed to be Taxila under the reign.
