Full Description: Alamgir II, Kora Mint, Gold Mohur, AH 116X/2 RY, Obv: sikka mubarak badshah ghazi, sanah hizri at right in first line, Rev: sanah 2 julus, zarb kora at bottom, 10.84g, 19.82mm, (KM # 467.6), about extremely fine, Extremely Rare. Kora is also known as Karrah situated in the present day of Allahabad district, UP. It played important role during Akbar's time as it was the headquarters of a Sarkar in the Subah of Allahabad. Kaithar district in Bihar. Gold mohurs of Alamgir II are extremely rare from this mint and missing from various collections. Probably first time offered in the auction sales. |
