Full Description: Gupta Dynasy, Chandragupta II (Vikramaditya) (375-415 AD), Gold Dinar, Archer Type, Obv: king standing left holding bow in his left hand & arrow in right hand, brahmi legend 'Chandra' below arm, garuda standard at left, Rev: goddess lakshmi seated facing on a lotus in padmasana, holding diadem in her right hand and unblossomed lotus in left hand going above, brahmi legend ‘Sri Vikramah’, 7.79g, 15.36mm, (Unlisted in Altekar, Bayana Hoard),, about extremely fine, Rare. This specimen shows the different style of unblossomed flower which appears similar like Gada in the goddess's left hand, very sharp and attractive feautres of the artistic hallow over the goddess. Stunning example of the type. |
