Kushan Dynasty, Kanishka II (230-240 AD), Gold Dinar, Obv: crowned, diademed king standing facing left, holding standard & sacrificing at altar at left, garlanded trident above altar, bactrian legend around þAONANOþAOKA ... N ... ηþKOKOþANO, brahmi single letter 'Vi Ru' at right & 'Nya' at left near altar, Rev: goddess of plenty ardoksho enthorned facing, holding diadem and cornucopia, bactrian legend right APΔOXþO, tamgha in upper left field, 7.62g, 21.44mm, about extremely fine, Rare.
Here Kanishka II reintroduces the goddess Ardochsho, who was frequently seen on coins of Kanishka and Huvishka, but never on those of Vasudeva. The legends are much clear and the detail of the throned goddess is compeltely visible and full throne/chair has come on the flan. Brahmi legends with 'Vi Ru' & 'Nya' first time offered in any auction.
