Full Description: Satavahana Dynasty, Kochiputra/Kausikiputra Siri Satakarni, Nasik Region, Potin Unit, Obv: elephant walking to right trunk upraised, 4-orbed ujjain symbol and a sacred pot (kumbh) above, brahmi legend around "Rajno Kochiputasa Siri Sa(takanisa)", Rev: tree in railing with broad leaves within circle, 5.68g, 19.83mm, (Coinage of Satavhana Empire. Pl.VII#B20), about very fine+, Scarce. This type with a rotund elephant was issued at Nashik by Kochiputra. An attractive specimen with lovely patina. |
