Full Description:

Bahawalpur, Muhammad Bahawal Khan II, Silver Nazarana Double Rupee, AH 1218/Ahad Ry, 'Khusru Getistan' Couplet, Hand-engraved oblique reading, In the name of Durrani Emperor Shah Shuja-ul-Mulk, Obv: sikka zad bar sim-o-zar az fazle khas kargar, khusru-e-getistan shah shuja namdar (Struck coin on silver & gold through the Special Grace of the Creator; the World-Grasping Cyrus, the Illustrious Shah Shuja ) & hijri 1218, Rev: manus maimanat, sana ahad julus & zarb bahawalpur completely visible at bottom, 22.36g, 27.00mm, (Old KM # 254), choice extremely fine+, as it is well centered strike with attractive floral design on bothsides, Extremely Rare.

Among the Double Rupee Coins of Bahawalpur, the coins of Shah Shuja-ul-Mulk are quite rarer compared to those of Mahmud Shah. The Double Rupee Coin of Bahawalpur, to pay Tribute (Nazr) to Shah Shuja ul-Mulk on the occasion of his 2nd Coronation. The oblique milling on these rare coins, is a tribute to the influence of the British Indian coins on the Bahawalpur coins. However, the milling on these coins is quite coarse and seems to have been done by the mint staff by hand.
