Azam Shah Coins were struck for a small period when he assumed the kingship in Ahmadnagar on 14^th March 1707, immediately 10 days after the death of his father Aurangzeb. Since he was active in the Berar, Gujarat and Malwa provinces before this event, most of the mints located in these regions had his coins struck from this region. At his defeat and death by his stepbrother Muazaam at the battle of Jajau on 8^th June 1707 his coinage also came to an end.
