Full Description: Medal, Sikkim State, King Palden Thondup Namgyal (1963-1975 AD), Silver Gilt Bronze, Coronation Medal (Breast Badge), 4 April 1965, Obv: state coat of arms of the Sikkim state in the center, legend around "PALDEN THONDUP NAMGYAL" and date below 4 ARIL 1965, Rev: mountains surrounded by Sikkimese legend, along with original suspension ring to wear, 21.29g, 32.71mm, about extremely fine, Very Rare. . Palden Thondup Namgyal was the 12th and last Chogyal (King) of Sikkim. In 1975 Sikkim joined the union of India through a referendum receiving a 97% majority election vote, thus ending his rule. |
