Full Description:

Harappan Primitive Money (3000-2500 BC), Indus Valley Civilization, Gold Disk (4), Group of 4 Disks, various sizes with central hole, generally used for necklaces but allegedly also for trade, given the great variety of size & weight, known from excavations at Harappan sites, 0.1 to 0.6gms, 4 to 9mm, choice very fine, Extremely Rare.

Note: Gold disk shaped beads similar to those found in the Mandi hoard, Muzaffarnagar district, UP. They are delicately manufactured with serrated edges. Dated to 2000 BC to the mature Harappan period, they are one of the earliest components of precious metals jewelry ever found in India. It is likely they were used as store of value and also as an exchange medium.
