Full Description:

Jahandar Shah, Parenda Mint, Lot of two different metals, Silver Rupee & Gold Mohur, AH 1124/Ahad RY,  "Abul Fath" Couplet, Obv: 'dar aafaq zad sikka chun mehr-o-mah, Abul Fath ghazi Jahandar Shah & Hijri date, Rev: sana ahad julus, zarb Parenda, 10.9g, 11.4g, 21.00mm, 22.5mm, (KM # 363.18 for rupee, unrecorded in gold), about very fine, test marks, Extremely Rare as a pair.

Parenda which was located in the Deccan region of India first came in the Mughal Empire during the reign of Aurangzeb as the coins from this mint are reported. The exact location of Parenda town is uncertain. It could possibly be the Osmanabad district of Maharashtra. Historical records indicate that the fort of Parenda was under the Nizam Shahis of Ahmednagar and this mint town would have remained in the Mughal Empire from Aurangzeb’s time. Both silver rupee and gold mohur are die identical to each other and would have plausibly struck from same dies itself.

It is an unrecorded mint for the gold mohur being offered for the first time in any auction.
