Full Description: Gwalior, Mahadaji Rao, Shahjahanpur Mint, Silver Rupee, 8 RY, In the name of Shah Alam II, Obv: Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi, Rev: Sana 8 julus, Zarb Shahjahanpur at the bottom, 11.1g, 22.00mm, (Unlisted in major catalogs) about very fine, test marks, Very Rare. Shahjahanpur is presently known as “Shajapur” and is located in central Madhya Pradesh. It became a part of the Sindhias' territory early when Malwa was divided between the Peshwa’ssardarsSindhia, Holkar and Puar. This is an early issue that has no mark on reverse. Later issues show a Trisul symbol. |
