Full Description: Tripura, Mukund Manikya, Silver Rupee, with the queen prabhavati, (1739-1744 AD) SE 1652, uncleaned with original patina, about very fine, unpublished, Unique.
After the death of the Dharma Manikya, his brother ascended the throne under the name of Mukund Manikya. Although no coins have yet been discovered in the name of this ruler, there must be a possibility that they will turn up one say, particularly as the Rajamala records that he struck his coin with the name of
his queen Prabhabati. His reason was a period of intrigue, with the Muslims continually trying to gain permanent rights over the hill region. ( Ref : N G Rodes & S K Bose :- The Coinage of Tripura).
This coin has come to an existence for the first time through our Auction House, and at the same time it is offered in the Auction. Great opportunity for the serious collectors of Tripura Coins.
