Note: After the death of Pramatta Simha, Rajesvara Simha, another son of Rudra Simha, ascended the throne. He continued and developed the coinage system established by his brother. Gold coins became much more available during his reign though they were struck using the same dies that were used for striking silver coins. Another innovation was the issue of minor denominations, namely the 1/16th, 1/8th, 1/4th & mohur. Rajesvara Simha adopted the idea of striking fractional denominations from the neighbouring kingdom of Tripura.
This extremely beautiful coin is in the finest condition and has never been previously offered by us. |
