Full Description: Tripura, Amara Manikya (1577-86 AD), Silver Tanka, Saka 1502, citing Queen Amaravati, with the title 'Conquerer of the World', Obv: a lion facing left, a standard above with a circular arc at the base and something tied to the shaft, a bead on top and the date below, Sake above lion's leg, all within a circle bordered by a series of double arches, Rev: "Digbijayi Sri Sri/ Yutamara Mani/kya Deva Sri Ama/ravati Devyau" within a square and ornaments outside, (Type KM # 91, RB #165), graded & slabbed by NGC as AU55, Top pop or highest-graded for the type in the NGC census, Extremely Rare. Note: The legend on this type begins with the word “Digvijayi” which translates to "Conqueror of the World" and reflects the military success of this ruler. |
