Governor | H. Denning | Grade (if Slabbed) | 25
Year | 1920 | Certificate | PMG
Full Description: British India, King George V, Uniface 1000 Rupees, Calcutta Circle, Dated 6 April 1920, Signed by H. Denning, Green Underprint, RD Prefix, S. No. RD63 75218, (KJ & RR # 2A.7.2A.3), folds, stains, spindle holes, graded by PMG as 25 Very Fine, Top-Pop and highest graded, Exceedingly Rare. Note: This specimen is an uncut complete banknote as opposed to its usual appearance of being cut into two halves and reattached. An incredible specimen, both in terms of rarity and appearance. A fantastic and grand-sized banknote with an enormous buying power, it was the highest denomination of the series and is exceedingly rare. It is immaculate without any graffiti or annotations on its surface. An interesting seal, “Allahabad Bank - Calcutta", is visible on the reverse. The paper quality is overwhelmingly decent on both sides, with just some minor stains noted on the reverse. Only a few examples are known of this tremendously rare and important banknote. Its pleasing appearance only adds to its desirability. This is Top-Pop, belonging to the highest grade on the PMG census for the type. |
