Note: The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II was proclaimed the Queen of United Kingdom and the Commonwealth Realms in February, 1952. The actual coronation ceremony was held in June, 1953, after several months of preparation. The year 1977 marks the 25th year of her reign. The silver jubilee of her rule was celebrated by the release of numerous commemorative medallions by different city councils and mayoralties. |
