Full Description: Bijapur Sultanate, Sikandar Adil Shah (AH 1083-1097/1672-1688 AD), Gold Fanam, AH (108)7, Obv: Arabic legend "Sikandar", Rev: Arabic legend "sultan (108)7", 0.5g, 5.77mm, (G&G # BJ41, Ref; JONS no. 74), about very fine, Extremely Rare. Note: The 'Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur, one of the five successor dynasties to the Bahmanid kingdom, lasted approximately 200 years; from 1489 until 1686 AD (AH 895 - 1097). The last king, Sikandar, was deposed by Aurangzeb in 1686 (AH 1097) when Bijapur became part of the Mughal Empire. Very hard to get almost complete legend on such a small coin!
