Note: Akbar founded this town in AH 976 and shifted his capital from Agra to Fathepur Sikri, which is about 40 kilometers from Agra, this place was used as his capital from 1571 to 1585 AD. It was also the adobe of the famous Saint Sheikh Salim Chishti who was greatly revered by Akbar and after whom Jahangir was named.  Although the mint was in operation for a few years and issued gold, silver, and copper coins regularly from AH 985-989.
