Bengal Sultanate, Ghiyath ud-din I'wad (2nd Series AH 622/1225 AD), Silver Tanka, AH 62X, Broad flan, In the name of Shams ud-din Itutmish, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada and “al nasir lidinullah amir al mominin” within a circle, Hijri year in the margin, Rev: Arabic legend "al-sultan al-Mu'azzam Shams ud-dunya wa'l din Abu'l Muzaffar Iltutmish al-sultani yamin khalifat allah nasir amir al mominin", 10.64g, 30.00mm, (G&G # B39), traces of ex-mount, about very fine, Very Rare.

Note: Ghiyath ud-din I’wad was appointed governor of Bengal under the Delhi sultans in AH 1213. In 1219 he declared himself Sultan of Bengal, an act noted by this rare silver tanka. Iltutmish of Delhi deposed and executed Iwad in AH 1227.
