Full Description: Indo-Portuguese, 1938, Specimen 20 (Vinte) Rupias, Banco Nacional Ultramarino, 5th Issue, Signed by President of Administrative Council Antonio Dos Santos Viegas & Administrator Joao Baptista De Araujo, S. No. 000000, 'SPECIMEN' on obverse, (KJ & RR # 12.26.2), printer's annotation, previously mounted at corner, graded by PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated, Extremely Rare. Note: This is a well-preserved large-sized note without any punches which has maintained its original vibrant colour. There is a vignette of Sri Saptakoteshwar Temple in Goa at the center of the obverse & a charging tiger in the center on the reverse. These were printed by Thomas de la Rue, London. The mounting residue along the back right edge is light. This is a spectacular example overall. Only one specimen graded higher than 64 is recorded in the PMG census. |
