Full Description: Shahjahan, Pattan Deo (Somnath) Mint, Silver Rupee, AH 1047/10 RY, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada within a square, and the four Caliphs' names in the margin, Rev: Persian legend "Shahjahan Badshah Ghazi" within a square, and the ruler's title & "zarb Pattan Deo" completely visible at the margins, 11.5g, 24.00mm, (KM # 235.21), test marks, choice extremely fine, Very Rare in this grade. Note: This specimen has complete mint visible, Patan Deo or Somnath Patan situated in Saurashtra is a famous Hindu pilgrimage centre and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.The only Mughal ruler to have struck coins from this important port city is Shahjahan.
