Full Description:

Rohilkhand, Ghulam Qadir (1785-1789), Ghausgarh mint, 'pseudo' mint name Najibabad, Silver Rupee (6), 28 & 29 RY, "Saya-e-fazle elah" Couplet, In the name of Shah Alam II, Obv: Persian legend “sikka zad bar haft kishwar saya-e-fazle elah, hami deen-e-Muhammad Shah Alam Badshah”, Rev: Persian legend “sana julus" & "zarb Najibabad" at the top, with a katar & sword mint marks,  11.20g, 21.00mm, each approx, choice extremely fine, Rare.

Note: The seat of the Rohillas, Najibabad, was lost to Awadh in 1774. The seat of Najib Khan’s family was then moved to Ghausgarh, a fortress built by Najib Khan in 1765. Coins dated from 1188/Ry16 are known with the mintmark, Fish for Awadh to the right of the Ry. A parallel series of coins are known of ‘Najibabad’ mint with the mintmark of a Katar of the Rohillas. It’s suggested that those coins were probably struck by the Rohillas at their fort at Ghausgarh. Also coins of Shah Alam II 28 RY.
