Full Description: Vishnukundin Dynasty (450-615 CE), Andhra Region, Copper Base Alloy Unit, Obv: a roaring lion standing facing the right with an upraised paw and tail curled against its back, a small Srivatsa symbol in front of it, a linear border surrounded by dots around the field, Rev: a conch shell (shankha) between two tridents, a linear border with serrations around the field, 8.96g, 21.94mm, (The Pallava Coins, R. Krishnamurthy # Pg. 118-Coin No. 1/Mitch. K&A # 180), choice extremely fine, Rare in this condition. Note: A specimen with its original toning intact and a superb patina. |
