Note: Patna was captured by the Mughals in A.H.982 after a successful campaign which was personally led by Akbar against Daud Shah Karrani.

In 1573 AD, Munim Khan attacked Bihar forcing Daud to retreat and take shelter in Patna. Daud sent Katlu Lohani, Gujar Khan Karrani, and Sri Hari against the Mughal army. From Akbar's army, Munim Khan, along with Todar Mal and Mansingh, made the first attack at Hajipur. After a fierce battle, the  Karraniforces, consisting of Bangla and Afghan troops, were on the verge of being victorious. However, Akbar then re-captured the neighboring fort of Hajipur which was the source of rations for his opponent’s army. Daud’s army morale broke and they subsequently retreated to Bengal. Akbar returned to the capital after appointing Munim Khan as his governor in Bihar and Bengal with Todar Mal to assist him.
