Shah Jahan, Daulatabad Mint, Lot of two coins, Silver Rupee & Gold Mohur, Struck from the same dies?, AH 1068/32 RY, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada within an octofoil, the four Caliphs' names in the margin, Rev: Persian legend "Shahjahan Badshah Ghazi" with regnal year 32 within an octofoil, ruler's title and "zarb Daulatabad" in the margin, Extremely Rare as pair.

Silver Rupee, 11.31g, 23.00mm, (KM # 232.1), no test mark, sharply struck, attractive original toning, choice extremely fine.

Gold Mohur, 10.86g, 22.00mm, (KM # A259.2), no test mark, sharply struck, original luster, superb quality, almost uncirculated.

Note: Towards the end of Shah Jahan’s reign, the octofoil design was adopted for a few mints including Daulatabad. It is unusual to find coins of different metals struck from the same dies. We have not offered this combination in the past.
