Full Description: Mexico, Gold 50 Pesos, 1945, Obv: Mexican national symbol of an eagle eating a snake on a cactus with wreath below and legend “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” around the field, Rev: winged Liberty with the denomination '50 PESOS' to the top-right and the gold content '37,5 G. ORO PURO' (37,5 grams of pure gold) to the top-left, dates '1821' to the bottom-left and 1945 to the bottom-right, legend on the edge, 41.5g, 36.9mm, (KM # 481), almost uncirculated, Extremely Rare. Note: These large Mexican Gold coins, Pesos, are often referred to as tributes to Mexico's claiming independence from Spain in the year 1821 and 'INDEPENDENCIA Y LIBERTAD' is therefore engraved on the edge. |
