Full Description:

Delhi Sultanate, Firuz Shah Zafar (AH 791/1389 AD), Hadrat Delhi Mint, Silver Tanka, Obv: Arabic legend "al-sultan al Azam Firuz Shah Zafar ibn Firuz Shah al Sultani", Rev: Arabic legend "fi zaman al-imam amir al-muminin Abi Abd Allah khulidat khilafatuhu", 10.86g, 22.41mm, (Unlisted and Unpublished), about extremely fine, Exceptionally Rare.

Note: Firuz Shah Zafar had ruled the Delhi sultanate for a very short span of time in AD 1389/ AH 791. Thus his coins of all metals are difficult to get. It is the first known silver tanka that has appeared publicly or in any auction.

As per its stylization with the inclusion of the caliph name "Abi Abd Allah", it is plausible that it was struck using dies that were made for Gold coinage. It is a new discovery for this ruler that is hitherto unrecorded in the past.

Goron and Goenka have not mentioned the silver coins of this ruler in their catalog.
