Madras Presidency, Madapollam Mint?, Copper Cash, Obv: a heart-shaped shield with a 4 on top, within the shield, are the letters EEIC, Rev: a deity standing, 1.7g, 10.5mm, (Stevens # 5.14/PR # 287), choice extremely fine, Very Rare.

Note: A new company called the English Company Trading to the East Indies, was created in 1698 and established its main site in India at Madapollam. They appear to have obtained rights to issue coins.
