Full Description: Later Gupta Dynasty, Vishnugupta (540-550 CE), Silver?/Debase Dinar, "Archer" type, Obv: the king standing facing left, nimbate, holding a longbow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, a Garuda standard in the left field, the Brahmi legend “Vishnu" below the king's arm, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, facing forward and seated in the padmasana posture on a lotus, holding a diadem in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh, a tamgha in the left field, the Brahmi legend "(Sri Chandraditya)" in the right field, 6.92g, 18.74mm, about very fine, Very Rare. |
