Note: Ikhtiyar ud din Ghazi Shah is known only from his coins whereon he calls himself Sultan bin Sultan and on this basis, it is suggested that he was the son of Fakhr ud din Mubarak Shah, his predecessor on whose death he ascended the throne of Sunargaon in AH 750 (AD 1349-50), the first date found on his coins issued from Sunargaon.

He ruled over Sunargaon for about three years till AH 753 (AD1352-3), as it is evident from his last dated coin issued from there. In the same year, he was ousted by Shams ud-din Ilyas Shah whose coins were issued from the Sunargaon mint with the year AH 753 (AD 1352-3).
