Akbar (AH 963-1014/1556-1605 AD), Silver Square Rupee, Mintless, Month less and Dateless type, Obv: Persian legend "Allahu Akbar", Rev: Persian legend "Jale Jalalahu", letter "Jim" of "Jalla" at the top elongated, 11.25g, 18.15 x 17.20mm, test mark, floral decorated fields on both sides, about very fine, Very Rare Type.

Note: This type was introduced by Akbar soon after AH 990 to announce the Islamic millennium, where he would be the supreme leader or Khalifah's as it is called in Islam. It eventually helped shroffs or traders counter the discounting of older coins that relied on the date mentioned on the coin to apply it.
