The content of this postcard was written in Gujarati script by Mahatma’s assistant on both sides as per instruction/dictation by Mahatma Gandhi. It is signed by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma as he is popularly known on the 3rd August 1929. It was sent to Shri Vishvanath Mangan Lal Bhatt, Gondal, and has a dispatch postmark “SABARMATI | 3 AUG 29 | 6- PM” on it, it was delivered in Gondal on 8th August 1929. Letter Recorded under serial no. 32577/90/1 in Kusumbehn Desai's Diary, excellent condition, Exceedingly Rare. Note: The content of the letter is I have your letter. Your dictionary is for scholars. It has its place. My demand is for something different. I have felt the need for a dictionary for a busy man like me who can immediately find the right word when he is stuck such a man would not ask for evidence in support of the meaning given. Your dictionary is likely to be expensive too. And what I want is simple words that people can easily understand, like havagadi for a motor car, not words coined by joining some Sanskrit words.
