| Full Description: Shah Jahan II, Rafi ud Daula (AH 1131/1719 AD), Khujista Bunyad (Aurangabad) Mint, Gold Mohur, AH 1131/Ahad RY, Obv: Persian legend "Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Shah Jahan" with complete Hijri year 1131, Rev: Persian legend "sana ahad julus, manus maimanat" & "zarb Khujista Bunyad" at the bottom, 10.9g, 21.57mm, (KM # 418.5), sharply struck, original luster, flawless, UNC, Exceedingly Rare. Note: Rafi ud-daula always called himself Shah Jahan on the coinage, so he is known as Shah Jahan II to distinguish him from the son of Jahangir. In the years prior to his accession, Aurangzeb, the governor of the Deccan, founded the city of Aurangabad, which he named after himself. Aurangabad has been known on its coins exclusively by its honorific epithet 'Khujista Bunyad', meaning 'auspicious foundation', since AH 1100. It is extremely difficult to find the gold mohurs of Shah Jahan II, which were issued from Khujista Bunyad mint and have never been offered at any Indian auction in the past.
