The historic Battle of Longewala (4-7 December 1971) was one of the most decisive battles of the 1971 Indo-Pak War when a squadron of Hunter fighter jets of the Indian Air Force operating out of Jaisalmer attacked and destroyed Pakistani forces comprising T-59 and Sherman tanks and other vehicles that had attacked the Longewala border post held by 23 Punjab Regiment. |
