a. Longewala Commemorative Medal, White metal, Obv: a fighter jet attacking with tanks, lettering “LAUNGEWAL DEC 1971-HUNTERS ATTACKING T59 TANKS”, Rev: an eagle with outstretched wings in front of a trident (trishul), without the ring, 13.0g, 31.72mm,

b. Indian Air Force badge, Bronze Cap Badge,  die-struck cap badge with ‘IAF’ surmounted by the lion capital and surrounded by a wreath, two loops at the reverse to wear, 15.2g, 41.37mm,

Note: An extremely attractive and unique medal commemorating a significant event in India’s history. The historic Battle of Longewala (4-7 December 1971) was one of the most decisive battles of the 1971 Indo-Pak War when a squadron of Hunter fighter jets of the Indian Air Force operating out of Jaisalmer attacked and destroyed Pakistani forces comprising T-59 and Sherman tanks and other vehicles that had attacked the Longewala border post held by 23 Punjab Regiment.
