Full Description: Yadavas of Devagiri, Mahadeva (12 Century CE), Punch Marked Gold Padmatanka, Scyphate, Obv: six punch marks consisting of a lotus in the center, Nagari legend "Mahadeva" with a bow on top, two punches of “Shri” in Kannada on the sides, a conch-shell (Shankha) below and a Boar to right, Rev: uniface, 3.23g, 17.69mm, (Mitch. K&A # 288/K.Ganesh # 7.14), about very fine, Very Rare. Note: Apart from the normal five symbols, this coin bears an additional punch in the form of a Boar. Consequently, this coin was likely used by a different dynasty at the same time. |
