Mauryan Dynasty, Vidarbha Region (3rd - 2nd BC), Copper Karshapana, a bold square copper coin cast by the ministers of Ashoka in Vidarbha area of Pavani and Bhandara. These are rare coins only published in the Numismatic Digest by Dr C S Gupta. There is a large stupa at Pavani where an Ashokan edict and such coins have been discovered, 9.75g, 21.87 x 24.15mm, about very fine.
