Full Description: Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II (375-415 AD), Gold Dinar, Archer Type, Obv: king standing left, holding an indian long bow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, garuda standing at left, brahmi legend under arm "chandra", circular brahmi legend around, Rev: lakshmi seated facing on a stylized lotus in padmasana, holding lotus blossom and scattering coins, one hand on waist with brahmi legend at right "sri vikramahaditya" with semi-circular stylized border in bottom, 8.65g, 19.32mm, (BMC # Plate VII-1), superb mint strike with bold luster, Extremely Rare.
The lotus flower is differently stylized than the other coins, bold strike of bow and arrow too on the both side. Very hard to get in this lovely condition. |
