Full Description: Gupta Dynasty, Samudragupta (335-370 AD), Gold Dinar, "Sceptre" (Standard) type, Obv: king, nimate standing and holding a royal sceptre (Rajadhanda) adorned with ribbon, Brahmi legend under arm "Samudra" in right field, garuda standard in left field, miniature dagger tucked waist belt, circular Brahmi legend "Samara sata vitata..........jito divam jayati", Rev: goddess Lakshmi, nimbate sitting on high backed throne, holding cornucopia and diadem and feets are rest on a circular mat, two legs of the throne visible, Brahmi legend "Parakramah" in the right field, tamgha at left field, 7.6g, 20.33mm, (Variant of Altekar. Bayana # Pl.II-13), Obverse is doublestruck, about very fine, Rare.
