Full Description: Gupta Dynasty, Samudragupta (335-370 AD), Gold Dinar, "Sceptre" (Standard) type, Obv: king, nimbate standing and holding a royal sceptre (Rajadhanda) adorned with ribbon, Brahmi legend under arm "Samudra" in right field, filleted garuda standard in left field and miniature dagger tucked waist belt, circular Brahmi legend "Samara sata vitata.........", Rev: goddess Lakshmi, nimbate sitting on high backed throne, holding cornucopia and noose and feets are resting on a circular mat, two legs of the throne visible, Brahmi legend "Parakramah" in the right field, tamgha at left field, 7.4g, 19.40mm, (Variant of Altekar.
