Full Description: Madras Presidency, Silver 1/4 Pagoda, 1st Issue, 1807 AD, Edge: Oblique Milling, Obv: seven tiered gopuram of a temple, standing on stony ground, 11 stars on each side, all this surrounded by a ribbon, the ends of which are separated by a star, on the ribbon is the value in English QUARTER PAGODA, Rev: figure of Vishnu holding a sword in his left hand and rising from a lotus flower, dotted and other symbols on each side, all surrounded by three beads, around this is value in Tamil and Telugu, (Paul Stevens # 3.54), gem uncirculated, original toning and patina, graded & slabbed by PCGS as MS66, Extremely Rare. Highest graded coin known in the population of PCGS. |
