Full Description: British India, King Edward VII, Uniface 5 Rupees, Initial ‘C’ for Calcutta Circle, Dated 20 May 1907, Signed by R.W. Gillen, Red Underprint, YA Prefix, S. No. YA31 76705, (KJ & RR # 2A.1.4A.1), spindle holes at issue, toned, corner tips missing, graded by PMG as 53 About Uncirculated, Extremely Rare. Note: An ostentatiously gorgeous banknote of the lowest denomination in the uniface series; it has a brown colour toning and the impressions of serial number and date embossing at the reverse is a testament to its very strong paper quality. , This fact points towards the serial numbers and date being printed at a later stage than is the norm. Its corner tips are missing but this does not deteriorate its appeal. We have not offered this type in this quality in the past. |
