Full Description: Later Kushan Dynasty, Magra (Rebel) (4th Century CE), Gold Dinar, “Ardokhsho” type, Obv: the king, diademed and nimbate, standing facing left, sacrificing over an altar, a ribboned trident surmounts the altar, holding a staff topped with chakra (wheel) in his left hand, Brahmi initial “Ga” under his raised left arm and “Ma sha” (Magra) to the outer right, blundered Bactrian legend around, Rev: the goddess Ardokhsho enthroned, nimbate, facing forward, holding a cornucopia in her left hand and a diadem in her extended right, a tamgha in upper left field, Bactrian legend "APΔOXþO" (ARODKHSHO) on the right field, 7.74g, 18.91mm, (Variant of Gobl # 578/Donum Burns # 744), about extremely fine, Extremely Rare. |
