Full Description: Eastern Chalukyas (9-11 Century CE), Copper Unit, Crude style, Obv: a lion standing facing left with its tail curled against its back and a front leg raised, a conch placed horizontally on top, linear border around the field, Rev: late southern Brahmi characters in retrograde legend possibly reading as “Shri da ha ka ke...?”, linear border with serrations around the field, 6.0g, 17.48mm, (Unreported & Unpublished), about extremely fine, Exceedingly Rare. Note: It is the first time we are coming across such a type. It has not been offered in any auction before. |
