Vijayanagara Empire, Aravidu Dynasty, Tirumalaraya (15 Century CE), Gold Fanam, Obv: a boar walking to the right, a dagger in front, under an archway with Vadakalai Namam, beside the sun and moon symbols, Rev: the Nagari legend "Tirumala" in two lines with interlinear rules, 0.39g, 7.56mm, (Mitch. K&A # 807), choice extremely fine, Extremely Rare.

Note: This is an extremely important gold fanam bearing two Vaishnavite symbols, the Varaha and the Vadakalai. This depiction shows the strong influence of the God Venkateshwara on the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire.
