Vijayanagara Empire, Aravidu Dynasty, Venkatapathiraya II (15-16 Century CE), Gold Varaha, Obv: the god Venkateshwara standing under an ornamental arch facing forward, holding a discus (chakra) and a conch-shell (shankha) in two separate hands, while another hand makes the abhayamudra gesture, Rev: Nagari legend “Shri Ven/katagiri/shwara” in three lines with interlinear rules, 3.4g, 11.69mm, (JONS. 230, Chandragiri coins of Aravidu Dynasty # Pl. 3), centrally struck on both sides, minuscule details visible, almost uncirculated, Very Rare.
